We’re Pranav Rajawat and Ayushman Rajawat, and honestly, this whole thing started as a memory more than a plan. Every morning, we’d watch our father and uncles tie their Safa before leaving the house. Nobody ever sat us down to explain what it meant you just understood, growing up around it, that it wasn’t for show. It was how a man carried himself.
Over the years, we noticed the Safa slowly moving from “everyday” to “special occasions only.” Weddings, festivals, maybe a family function, but not something you’d wear on a regular Tuesday anymore. And that got us thinking: the tradition changed, but did the feeling behind it have to disappear along with it?
We didn’t want to bring back the Safa exactly as it was. That wasn’t really the point. We wanted to take what it represented, that quiet confidence, and put it into something people could actually wear day to day. A Fedora. A Cowboy Hat. A Flat Cap. Different shapes, same idea underneath.
Honestly, we got tired of the options. Every time we looked for a genuinely good hat in India, it was either overpriced, poorly made, or something we’d have to order from abroad and wait months for.
That seemed backwards to us. So we set out to make hats that didn’t force that choice. Good materials, careful construction, priced like we’d want to pay for it ourselves.
We kept the name PARLA HOUSE on purpose. Not for nostalgia points. Just because it’s true. That village is where this whole thing comes from, and pretending otherwise felt dishonest.
Behind it stands SABI BROTHERS, the firm building this brand, a name pulled from Brothers in Blood: Lions of Sabi Sand, chosen because it says exactly what we wanted: unity, clan, and a family that conquers together.
